If your 17 or older and have a provisional licence you're ready to start. You don't have to have passed your theory test - it can be done after you start your lessons. If you don't have a provisional licence apply for one using a DL1(NI) application form. Post offices or driving test centres stock them.

Well done Callum passing at your first attempt.
This can be done after you've started taking lessons but you must pass it before you can apply to sit your driving test. The pass mark for the multiple choice part of the theory test is 43 out of 50. The hazard perception pass mark is 44 out of 75. Check out the Theory page on this website for more information.
The Pupil will be asked 2 show & tell questions at the start of the test - go to the show & tell page for the list. The driving part will take about 35 minutes and includes an emergency stop, one manoeuvre & 2 sections of independent driving ( 5 minutes each ) check out the youtube video below for more on this. To get more details on the driving test go to the practical page of this website.
